7 Destructive Tendencies of Parents

Why write about the negative aspects of parenting? Wouldn't it be more productive to focus more on positive habits?  One of the things that restorative processes emphasize is the value of naming the harms and negative impacts of our actions so that we can first take responsibility for them and secondly take action to repair the harm.  The fact is that for most of us parents, as much as we love our children unconditionally and work for their success and happiness, we often find ourselves falling off the positive impact wagon and it's important for us to have tools to turn destructive situations into learning situations that promote long term bonds with our children.  I will say over and over that parenting is a practice, and that while practice may not make perfect, it does make better.
